For many, the Christmas season is a joyful time during which friends and families gather in a spirit of love to worship, sharefood, and exchange gifts. It’s a time filled with music, laughter, and brightly colored packages. For others, it’s a season of long, cold nights filled with loneliness and grief due to loss of a loved one, job, health, or a pet. It’s easy to feel alone in grief when the world seems filled with song and laughter that you can’t share. Especially at this time, you may need time and space to grieve, find peace, and restore hope. For this reason, on the longest night of the year, the winter solstice, St. Paul’s Church once again invites the community to join in A Service of Remembrance. Through readings, prayer, and music we will remember loved ones who’ve died, grieve our losses, and, hopefully, find restoration of our spirits. Whether this is a joyful season for you or one of loneliness and grief, please join with us in an atmosphere of understanding, comfort, and hope on this winter solstice evening which for some is truly “The Longest Night.” Invite a friend or neighbor who may need support and comfort at this time. All are welcome. Mark your calendar now.
