Come Rejoice with us.
“Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.” (1 Thessalonians 5:16-18) There are many things we do well at St. Paul’s. Rejoicing in our fellowship with each other is one of them. We rejoice in diversity as a gift and not a hindrance. It begins when you walk through that bare wooden front door, which tells us to come as you are. As we are on many walks of life, we cherish the love of God in each other. We may not have everything, but together, we have them all!
Fellowship
“If we walk in the Light as He Himself is in the Light, we have fellowship with one another…” (1 John 1:7). Our mission is “With God’s help, walking on the spiritual journey, we will be, and lead others to be committed followers of Jesus Christ.” The fellowship is the heart of our faith community. When we gather to celebrate, everyone contributes and participates. That is how the Holy Spirit works through us. We would like you to be part of this fellowship.
Leadership
“The vestry is the legal representative of the parish with regard to all matters pertaining to its corporate property” (as cited in The Episcopal Church website). Click here for more information. In all reality, a call to serve on the Vestry is more than a business board meeting. They are a group of leaders whom the parish has called and work with the rector as partners in ministry. We have nine people, three in each class–Junior, Middler, and Senior. In the three years of their duty, they grow together as a faithful disciple and servant leader of the congregation.
Discipleship
“What we are is God’s gift to us. What we become is our gift to God.” Eleanor Powell said it best. Following Jesus means to practice His unselfish love. We try to live our faith by sharing our time, talent, and treasure – unselfishly. “For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also” (Matthew 6:21). Our hearts are with Christ. Therefore, to Christ, we give.
