Todd Ihrig

Todd Ihrig is originally from the Greater Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky area and received his B.A. in Music from NKU. While at Northern, he had the opportunity to spend two summers in Bregenz, Austria with the Kentucky Institute for European Studies. In 1990, Todd moved to Louisville to begin graduate studies in Music History and has remained here ever since. While at U ofL, he sang in the choir of Calvary Episcopal Church for a year under the direction of the Melvin Dickinson and studied harpsichord and tenor viol with Jack Ashworth, as well as a singer in the Early Music Collegium. In more recent years, he sang and was accompanist for the Louisville Gay Men’s Chorus.

Todd was raised Southern Baptist, but as a late teenager he converted to the Episcopal Church and was confirmed. However, St. Paul’s is his first music position with the Episcopal Church, which he started in September 2023. Most of his previous experience in church music has been with Lutherans and Presbyterians. He has also played for Catholic, Baptist and Disciples of Christ congregations. Todd also teaches private piano lessons at Music Go Round and Strathmoor Presbyterian Church.
